The October edition

Luke here. Welcome to the first monthly note from MyEO Iron Minds. Once a month we'll share what the group has been up to across swim, bike and run, and cheer on whoever deserves it.

First, a thank you

This group exists because Arun and Kunal set it up. As co-founders they've brought 84 of us together to swim, ride and run, and this first note exists because of what they started. Thank you both.

From Lukla to Everest Base Camp

Our very own Arun has shared something special. He and his 14-year-old son Dhruv walked from Lukla to Everest Base Camp, at 5,364 m. Seven days, about 70 km and 4,753 m of climbing, through minus 9°C mornings, and they carried the Iron Minds flag all the way up and held it on the rock at Base Camp. Arun credits the group's training, the early mornings and your encouragement for getting them through the heavy-leg days. And Dhruv has already decided Base Camp isn't enough: he wants the Everest summit one day. Congratulations to both of them.

Ahmed Uzair, Ironman California

Ahmed Uzair finished Ironman California in 11:55:39, under 12 hours. He placed 85th of 265 in the M40-44 age group, and by his own account PB'd the swim, the bike and the run on the day. Huge congratulations, Ahmed.

Thinking ahead

We're also thinking about global EO Ironman forums and a retreat where we combine endurance sport and entrepreneurship. Arun, Kunal and I will seed the first forum - if you're interested, send me a DM. Nothing decided yet, just an idea we want to float with the group. More soon.

See you out there,
Luke
